Play area to remember RAF woman
A children's play area in a Kent town has been named after the first British servicewoman killed on duty in Iraq.

Flt Lt Sarah-Jayne Mulvihill, 32, from Kent, and four male colleagues died when a helicopter came down last May.

She was born in Canterbury and grew up in Herne Bay where the play area has been refurbished by the city council.

The Sarah-Jayne Memorial Play Area at Cherry Orchard was named by her parents, who still live in the town, and unveiled at a ceremony on Saturday.

Flt Lt Mulvihill was an operations support officer acting as adjutant when she was killed in Basra on 6 May.

A memorial to her was unveiled at Kent International Airport at Manston in December.
